Had some stuff I had to deal with this morning, but I got out to Merchants Millpond for a short paddle, I wish I had more time, for my first visit here. I was not a real happy camper when I pulled into the parking lot and saw it full of construction equipment, they are completely rebuilding the ramp, and I thought that there was no way to launch, but the dock was open for launching. It was a tight squeeze to launch due to the dozen or so canoes chained to the pier, and even more fun to land.
Once out on the water you see trees, and more trees, I was wondering how much of the surface is actually trees, there are a lot. The trees are primarily cypress, and for the most part they have very interesting shapes.
