Portsmouth City park
Portsmouth City Park
Great park, with lots to do other then kayaking. Only public access to the Western Branch of the Elizabeth River that I am aware of. There are 2 launch sites here, one for powerboats, and one for small watercraft.
Visited in the winter time, and there were very few people here, but I am willing to bet this is a popular place in the summer.
Launch is a gravel sand beach with lots of room.
