Indian Creek Road Small Boat Launch
Indian Creek Road
The Indian Creek Road Small Boat ramp is located on the Western end of Northwest River Park, in Chesapeake Virginia,. The ramp is operated by the Parks and Recreation Department of the city of Chesapeake. The ramp is open from 9am to Sunset, and there is no charge for its use, and has enough parking for about 4 or 5 vehicles.
There is pretty much only one way to go, and that is the away from the bridge. As you paddle south, the creek opens up pretty quick, to a nice wide waterway, with some nice scenery.
Keep in mind that if you have come here because the water was to low at Baum Road, you want to stay towards the middle of the creek, because close to the side can get real shallow real quick, if you avoid cutting the corners you shouldn't have any problems.
When I go to this area I tend to use the Baum Road launch site, as this location is usually crowded with people fishing and such. There are technically 2 ramps here, one right next to the bridge, and the other about 10-20 yards down stream.
